On 3 September 2025, in Baku (Azerbaijan) Intersputnik jointly with ITU and Azercosmos held a seminar “Orbital Synergy: Global Perspectives on Space Connectivity” dedicated to industry capacity building for experts from Azerbaijan and other ITU and Intersputnik member states. The seminar addressed the hottest topics of development and regulation in the satellite communications industry. The attendees included representatives from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Serbia and India.
The top executives of Azercosmos, Intersputnik and the ITU Regional Office for CIS took part in the seminar opening ceremony.
Presentations and discussions covered a vast array of topics related to the development of the satellite telecommunications industry as an integral part of the modern information and communications ecosystem. These topics included direct-to-cell communication systems; regulation of Earth Stations in Motion in various orbits and frequency bands; topics on the agenda of ITU World Radiocommunication Conferences; challenges and potential of the satellite Internet of Things; cybersecurity risks in space-based systems; the role of artificial intelligence in modern satellite networks; the future of the C-band.
The seminar speakers included experts from the industry’s leading international, regional and national organisations and associations, research institutes and companies: Global System for Mobile Communications Association; ITU Regional Office for CIS; ITU Radiocommunication Bureau; Study Groups of the ITU-R and ITU-T Sectors; International Space Radio Coordination Service of the State Radio Frequency Service at the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan; Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan; InterSatellite Global company.

The seminar establish a dialogue between leading international experts, scientific community, and industry professionals with an extensive practical expertise in the development of satellite telecommunication systems and international regulatory coordination of orbit and frequency resources.
